I came to Estonia exactly for the fashion season. I love shooting runways. Those getting ready moments backstage—the energy, the last-minute touches—are the best part of it all. Watching everything come together, knowing every little detail matters.
I’m a perfectionist—and here, I can truly flow.

For the past three years, I mostly shot bikinis. I was living in warm countries, so naturally, most of my work was beach-focused. I loved the lifestyle and being close to the ocean—but deep down, I always wanted to shoot fashion. Stories told through fabric, light, and feeling. I just never had the right opportunity.
Then came the Antonius Fashion Show at the Estonian Fashion Festival—a runway where designers were encouraged to be bold, responsible, and expressive. Their collections were rooted in eco-conscious principles, from using upcycled materials and deadstock fabrics to embracing zero-waste patterns and ethical production.
You could feel the sustainability in every corner. Even plastic water bottles were banned—a small but meaningful detail that said a lot about the show’s values.
Before this, I’d never really shot in Estonia—even though I’m originally from here. I’ve spent the last eight years living abroad, chasing the sun. But I always had a feeling that if the right moment came, shooting in Estonia would shift something in me creatively. And it did.
Estonia has such a unique culture—something I haven’t experienced anywhere else.

A bit about the technical side: Normally, I shoot with flash, but the lighting at the show was incredible, so I decided to go natural—and I’m glad I did. It gave me space to play more. When I shoot with flash, I treat it like film photography—I think through the shot and try not to overshoot (also so I don’t blind the models). But what I actually love about overshooting is that sometimes you don’t realise how special a frame is until you’re reviewing it later. With the right crop and some attention to detail, the result can totally surprise you.
For this series, I kept the edits super clean—just letting the natural light and textures speak for themselves.
Two of my favourite collections from the show were Alice Pärtelpoeg’s OF SCARCITY and PUUE Universe Kaos by Sille Randviir.
